Former Medinah Mosque
on Wabash (formerly Cass) Avenue

Facing North Wabash Avenue, along the entire block from Ohio to Ontario Streets, and being a half-block deep, The former Medinah mosque occupies an impressive footprint. With the Tree Studios property facing State Street & its annex building, the Medinah Shriners occupied the entire block. The onion domes, the steel skeletons of which were rusted and corroded to the point of near collapse, were removed shortly before the property was sold. The building’s developers constructed replacement onion domes which now grace the front two corners of the building. The bottom image shows the roof dome over the centre of the building. |
